Ms. Chan was an incredible piano teacher for my 10 year old daughter, Amelia. She was so patient and informative. My daughter came such a long way in her skills during the approximately year and a half with her. I was so impressed when I would hear Amelia play the piano. She always looked forward to coming to class and telling Bhakti stories about her week.
I highly recommend Ms. Chan and we will miss her here in California.

Bhakti Chan is an outstanding piano teacher for children. My two boys, ages seven and nine have very different personalities and needs as students. Miss Bhakti demonstrated creativity, adaptability, friendliness, and joy when working with each of them.
For example, my seven year old decided to be silly and crossed his right arm over his left to play the newly assigned piece, during one of his first lessons with Bhakti. She went with the flow, praised him for being creative, and challenged him to learn the piece with his arms crossed and uncrossed. Challenge accepted! I loved that she was open to letting my son explore music and his own creativity.
That said, both of my children began progressing beyond my expectations in the fundamentals of reading and playing music. They enjoyed their first open mic with the encouragement of Bhakti, something they were extremely nervous to try.
As a parent, it was wonderful coordinating with Bhakti. She responded promptly through texting or phone calls when I had questions. She worked effectively online and in person, and kept everyone’s safety in mind during lessons. I cannot say enough about how much my family enjoyed lessons with Bhakti. Her next students will be lucky to have found such a talented and supportive piano instructor.
